Axel oversees Virgin Hyperloop One’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, business strategy, procurement, and supply chain teams and collaborates closely with the field and engineering teams to help make Virgin Hyperloop One systems a reality worldwide. Axel joined the company in June 2017 as Senior Vice President of Finance.
He previously spent 10 years at Google in difference finance roles, including Head of Capital Markets and Director of Sales Finance. He spent two years as Uber Technologies’ VP & Treasurer, and served as CFO at TuneIn and Hampton Creek. Axel also worked at Merrill Lynch and Chase Manhattan Bank as an investment banker.
Axel holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
