Things are moving fast for our team on the ground in the United Arab Emirates. In less than three weeks, they've already had an audience with Sheikh Mohammed, the Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai. The program we're participating in -- the Dubai Future Foundation's 'Accelerators'-- has been completely supportive and encouraging. In an article published by The Associated Press this week, Saif al-Aleeli, the CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, said, "Imagine that you can live in Riyadh, work in Dubai, have your dinner in Abu Dhabi and watch a movie in Qatar...Dubai is trying, as a mission, to prove that concept."
The week also saw our team on a scouting mission to Abu Dhabi, looking for possible locations for future Hyperloop portals. Check out the video below for a taste of how that went.
For an in-depth look at the Dubai Future Accelerators program and more on Sheikh Mohammed's visit, check out the below video produced by the UAE's largest news program. (We show up about 12 minutes into it.)
And finally, an awesome photo of our director of product development, Chris Vasquez, co-founder and president of engineering, Josh Giegel and creative director, Colin Rhys, touring the Grand Mosque in Dubai. Look for more videos, photos and updates on this, our new Dubai blog, coming in a few days...
